Among electric vans homologated in Chile with payload of 1,400 kg or more, the GECKO EV48 is the most efficient: 6,2 km/kWh against 4,6 for the runner-up — 34,8% more. The threshold isn't chosen to fit: the EV48 leads this cut at any payload threshold between 1.261 kg and 1.425 kg.

A registry entry flagged for review, even though it would favor e-auto to leave it as is. The Karry Surfer EV7 (certificate C.H. 6971) lists 9.0 km/kWh with a 53.6 kWh battery, implying roughly 482 km of range on a 3-tonne van; the manufacturer publishes around 285 km. We have filed a query with the 3CV. Until there is a response, the row stays published exactly as it appears in the official registry.

Methodology and source

Data comes from the Nómina de Vehículos Livianos y Medianos Homologados, published by the Centro de Control y Certificación Vehicular (3CV), Subsecretaría de Transportes de Chile, cutoff Jul 13, 2026. Available at subtrans.gob.cl. Payload is computed as gross vehicle weight minus curb weight (GVW − CVW), both recorded in the registry. The registry does not record cargo volume or range: those figures, where they appear in product sheets, are always manufacturer-declared and labeled as such.
